Tap-to-build spelling is the default. Recorded character voices read words and letter names; they do not provide recorded individual phonemes. A grown-up can model the sounds and blend them together.
Warm up: clap syllables, find rhyming pictures, and listen for the first sound together.
Early reading: match a printed word to its picture, choose a missing letter, then build the same word with tiles.
Next steps: build longer words one letter at a time; try word changes such as cat → hat → hot.
Later: build a short sentence, choose the picture that fits it, and answer a simple “who” or “what” question.
Word length alone doesn’t determine difficulty. Choose familiar sounds before introducing a new pattern. This prototype offers practice, not an assessment or a complete phonics curriculum.
YOUR FIRST GIG
Try as often as you like. Grown-ups can choose a level or turn on keyboard spelling.
